πŸ’Ύ Your filters are safe with us

Setting up your filters are now easier than ever. Set up your filters once, and we will make sure to save your filter settings in the future πŸ’Ύ No need to manually change the filters every time you enter Eduflow ✨

We are continuously making both large and small improvements to Eduflow. Follow along here on Canny or Twitter to get the latest updates.

πŸ‘« New role type: assistants

There are often cases where you want to add someone to a course with restricted editing rights and access to data. With our new assistant role type it's now possible to do that!

If you're on the Lite plan or above, you are able to invite assistants from the course participants page. Simply click the Invite participants button and select Invite assistants.

Assistant permissions

An assistant has limited access to your course. They cannot make any edits to content or settings. Assistants can only access data from and interact with students that they have assigned. To assign students to an assistant, find them in the participants list, click the action menu button and select Assign students.

Select the students assigned to the assistant in the menu. The assistant will now only have access to data from their assigned students. That means the assistant will only be able to see completion data, submissions, reviews, discussion topics etc. from assigned students.

‍

View students email on summary page

Instructors on Eduflow are now able to toggle on our new email column in addition to our existing tags column on the summary page. We hope this improvement to the summary page will make it even more useful to all instructors using Eduflow ✨

πŸ“Ή Captions and subtitles now available on video uploads

We at Eduflow find accessibility to be key to delivering the best learning experience πŸ‘©πŸ’». We are therefore happy to announce official support for captions and subtitles on video uploads on Eduflow ✨

  • Upload your video file
  • Upload your subtitle file (we support .vtt)
  • Your captions and subtitles have now been added to the video

πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ¨ Visual customisation & branding

Being on-brand is an important way to distinguishing yourself from others and to reassure participants they're in the right place. We've added visual customisation and branding options to your institution and courses now so you can make it uniquely yours!

How visual customisation & branding works

If you're on a Pro plan or higher you can now:

  • Add your logo to be displayed in the header
  • Change font family
  • Change accent color
  • Change border radius

The changes will affect all pages within your institution so you don't need to change it for every page and to create a consistent look n' feel across your institution.

To use the feature, head over to your Institution dashboard > Settings > Logos & theme.

In here, you will also see an option to allow instructors to override the institution theme within their courses. If this is enabled, a custom theme for each course can be created. You will find the course theming options in the course context menu.

Happy theming! 🎨

  • Search through Unsplash
  • Upload your own

πŸ”› Zapier integration

The eco-system of apps used to power modern organisations is increasing by the minute.

  • Email marketing platforms (MailChimp, ActiveCampign etc.)
  • Payment gateways (Stripe, Gumroad etc.)
  • Survey tools (Typeform, Jotform etc.)
  • Databases (Airtable etc.)
  • Websites (Webflow, Squarespace etc.)

To make sure Eduflow will always fit into your workflow, we're releasing a Zapier integration that allows you connect your Eduflow account to more than 2000 apps!

Here are 3 examples of workflows you can build with the Zapier integration:

Example #1: Charge students for your course

Create a Zap with Eduflow and a payment gateway like Stripe or Gumroad. Set it up an action that sends a student invite email once someone has made a purchase.

Example #2: Send a custom student invite email

Create a Zap with Eduflow and Zapier's email sender. In your Zap, disable the default invite email sent out by Eduflow and send out your own custom email. Remember to include the invite link in your email, so your students can sign up to their account.

Example #3: Complete an activity when a survey has been answered

Create a Zap with Eduflow and a survey provider like Typeform or Jotform. Set up your Zap to complete an activity in one of your courses, once the form has been submitted. Remember to include an identifier in your form, so Eduflow can find and mark the student complete.

... but wait, there's more! This release only covers v1 of our Zapier integration and includes Zapier Actions. In our next release, coming up very soon, we'll add Zapier

Triggers

to our integration, making it even more powerful to use. So stay tuned!

The Zapier integration is available to customers on our Pro and Premium plans. Read our Help Center article covering all relevant information about our Zapier integration.

🏫 Add instructors from your own institution to a course

There's no time to waste when it comes to running your courses. To speed up your workflow, we've added a search input that allows you to quickly find courses.

To search your courses, click on the input and simply start typing the title of the course you're looking for. For the keyboard savvy users with no time to waste, you can also type '/' on your keyboard to focus the input field.

We hope you will make good use of these latest additions to the select a tag activity 🏷 😊

✨ Tags and filters are now available on the summary page.

We are happy to announce that tags and filters now are available in the summary page in Eduflow. πŸ™Œ This latest addition to the summary page makes it possible for instructors to view, sort and filter students by tags. 🏷

In addition, instructors are now also able to export the table, including tags, to either a .csv or excel file πŸ“„

We hope you all will make good use of it! 😊

✨ Filtering and sorting now available in the result viewer interface

Today we are announcing filtering and sorting for the result viewer interface in Eduflow πŸŽ‰

This latest addition to the result viewer interface makes it possible for instructors to filter and sort student results, for instance submissions and peer reviews, by attributes which among the many available include tags, date and time, status and quality πŸ“… 🏷 πŸ’―

Furthermore, we have added timestamps to all student entries in all activities across the entire interface – making it easy for instructors to know whenever any student delivery is delivered⏱

Last, but not least, instructors can now decide the kind of information they find relevant by choosing exactly which attributes, such as tags and status, that should be displayed in the sidebar of the result view interface for any activity. We thereby give the instructors the power to customize the result viewer interface to match their exact needs at any given time.

We hope you all will make good use of it! 😊

⬇️ Summary data exports

Spreadsheets have been around since 1969 and they don't seem to go away anytime soon. And for good reason! It's a great tool for interpreting and manipulating data. That's why we're so excited to launch summary data exports today!

From the summary page, you will be able to export the current view in two file formats – .csv and .xls. The export will respect the view and ordering in the file you get. If you have a smaller course, the file will be downloaded directly in your browser. If you have a larger course, we will send the file to your inbox. Now all that's left for you to do is crunch the numbers! πŸ’―

πŸ’― Scoring activity

We just finished work on our newest addition to our activity family – the scoring activity!

The scoring activity makes it possible to take one or more inputs from your activities and configure a score for each student in a course. The scoring activity can be used to:

  • Show students a score for their submission that's been reviewed by instructors, teaching assistants or by their peers.
  • Create a combined score that evaluates student performance in multiple different activities.
  • Set a passing threshold that must be met in order for students to move on to other activities in the course.

To learn more about the new scoring activity and how it works, read our extensive Help Center article here: https://help.eduflow.com/en/articles/4362197-scoring-activity

πŸ”€ API access

If you or one of your colleagues know how to get your hands dirty with code, this update will suit you well! From your institution dashboard, you're now able to retrieve an API key and access your data programmatically ⌨️.

To get an API key, you need to:

  1. Go to your institution dashboard
  2. Go to 'Settings', then select the 'Developer API' tab.
  3. Click the 'Generate API key' button.

✨ Improved video streaming

Do you ... also ... ge ... t ... annoyed ... when videos ... aren't loading ... properly?

Us too!

That's why we've been working on improving video streaming in Eduflow. There's no visible change for you, but we've done a lot of magic behind-the-scenes to make videos load faster and more smoothly. This is one of those quality-of-life improvements that will not be very noticeable, but that we hope you'll appreciate!

πŸ› Institutions

As you might have already noticed we've rolled out institutions in Eduflow πŸ›! From the top left corner of your overview page, you will see the name of the institution you're in. Clicking the institution name will open up a context menu where you can switch to another institution or create a new one.

If you're the owner or an admin of the institution, you will have access to the institution dashboard. From the institution dashboard, you have a full overview of all participants enrolled in the institution, what their user type is and all the courses within the institution. It is also from the dashboard you can invite admins, instructors or students to join the institution.

This might not seem as an impressive upgrade to Eduflow. After all, the functionality for the institution dashboard is still very limited. But it does create the foundation for some exciting, new features moving forward, such as:

  • Analytics dashboard
  • API access
  • Single sign-on for institutions
  • Self-service subscriptions

We already hard at work on those, so stay tuned!
